Course overview:

In the first session, dedicated to the theoretical aspect of Insurance and Financial services, we will be examining the pertinent provisions of the VAT Directive and the corresponding articles as transposed in the Malta VAT Act. In the second session, we will be placing theory into practice by assessing a number of case scenarios with a view to determining the applicable VAT treatment and identifying the implications for the Insurance and Financial operators providing these services such as registration for VAT purposes and right of deduction of input VAT.

Audience:

The seminar is particularly suitable for professionals, tax advisors and practitioners who offer or intend to offer advisory and consultancy services to banks and financial services providers. It can also be useful for students who are pursuing studies in accountancy and specialisation in VAT.
